Principal Message
The staff at Allard Elementary School welcomes you and your family to the 2023-2024 school year! We are committed to making this upcoming school year a success for all students.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you and our incredible teaching staff to enhance each student’s achievement. By working together, we will lay the groundwork for student success both now and in the future. Please find additional information related to the start of the school year in this letter. If I can be of assistance or answer any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
As a reminder, the school day for students will be from 8:30 a.m. – 3: 15 p.m. The doors to the building will open each morning at 8:25 a.m. Students being DRIVEN to school are permitted to arrive at 8:25 a.m. The main lobby ‘Student Drop-Off’ area will not be open prior to that time. Please do not leave your child unattended in the front of the school building before the doors open. Additional information regarding arrival and dismissal may be found in a separate Skyward message. We will be following the same format for dismissal as last year.
If you need to drop something off to the building, please ring the buzzer and a staff member will assist you. In addition, if you are picking up items from the building, please ring the buzzer and a staff member will provide assistance.
Please make certain your pickup information is updated in Skyward and be sure to list all individuals that will be picking up your child, including you as the parent/guardian. You must also bring a valid ID. Your child will not be released to anyone that is not on the pickup list or does not have a valid ID
There are many great things occurring at Allard! We are committed to making this upcoming school year a success for our students. We will be continuing our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to promote school safety and good behavior. The students enjoyed PBIS last year with such things as monthly drawings for positive behavior rewards, special dress-up days, and several fun school-wide assemblies! We are looking forward to this year’s activities and events! We are also excited to continue
Research has shown that the involvement of parents/guardians in the education of a child can be directly related to their success. We also believe that you are a critical part of the success of our school. In order to help foster success in our students, we ask that you do the following:
- Make sure that your child attends and arrives on time for school each day.
- Monitor your child’s homework on a daily basis.
- Support our positive behavior initiatives at school.
- Read with your child or encourage your child to read each day.
- Become involved with our Allard Family.
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great way to participate in our school. More information will be forthcoming regarding our Parent Teacher Organization. Please consider supporting our school by becoming a member of our PTO.
Your child’s homeroom teacher will be a valuable resource, and I encourage you to establish a positive relationship with our teachers. Remember, Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM).
Some additional reminders for the upcoming school year:
- Students are permitted to bring/carry back packs/book bags and should bring their iPad and charger (once distributed), notebooks, and a pen or pencil.
- Students who may have the need for emergency medications – Parents/guardians should bring it to school and provide it directly to Nurse Quaye.
- Students exhibiting any signs of illness should not report to school.
As always, please contact us should any questions or concerns arise.
Please be patient during the first few weeks of school as staff and parents become acclimated to our drop-off and dismissal procedures. It may be hectic during the opening weeks, but we want you to know that our procedures are for the safety of all students, family members, and staff.
I look forward to partnering with each of you to make the 2023-2024 school year a success for all students. I am honored to serve as your Principal at Allard, and to be part of this wonderful Allard community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Susan Kazmierczak
Principal
